Departure from Fort William and return flight
Last day – Unfortunately!
After a very early breakfast we went to the bus station in Fort William and drove back to Edinburgh. If you have walked this route in 8 days, then it is almost depressing to see how the bus covers the same distance in about four hours. Since my shins were still hurting I was glad that I didn’t have to walk anymore.
So we fought our way through to Edinburgh airport and reached our flight back to Hamburg on time. This was the end of a journey of which I often dreamed in advance and which in all aspects far exceeded my dreams. Of course the mostly great weather played a role, but also the rainy days were wonderful.
I knew immediately that I would go hiking again and again, because package holidays were out of the question for me from the first day in Scotland.
Have you walked the West Highland Way yet? Were you also enthusiastic and what are your experiences? Could you perhaps even take some tips and inspiration from my report?
Tell me in the comments!
