Moin together, today is the day – deadline! After reading again Endlich Nichtraucher (Amazon) by Allen Carr I start today my second serious attempt to finally stop smoking and become a non-smoker!

I know, the topic doesn’t have much to do with hiking, even if hiking has finally convinced me even more of it, that it’s time to finally stop completely!
The constant whistling of the lungs, the lack of endurance and – excuse the choice of words – the constant mucus and snot make walking neither easier nor more pleasant. Besides, I didn’t want to smoke in nature anymore! I always took my cigarettes with me and didn’t leave them in nature, but the smell of the clothes was enough to make me feel bad.
I have created a kind of mantra for myself to read through in moments when I am tempted and hope that this “letter to myself” will help me. I also got the Android App Get Rich or Die Smoking from Tobias Gruber in the premium version. The app offers a statistic about saved money and time, an overview about the state of health and a community that motivates each other and gives helpful tips how I was able to read the last days.
If you are interested, here is my mantra or the letter to myself:
The fear of racing heartbeat!
The feeling of not being able to swallow properly!
Not being able to breathe freely!
The pressure on the temples!
The feeling of a tied breast!
Be exhausted from doing nothing!
To always be tired!
The always dry mouth!
Brownish lumpy snot!
I can’t be a slave to an intoxicant!
Never be free!
DON’T TOUCH HER! I BEG YOU! You know what you’re doing! THIS IS A MOMENT AND YOU WILL BE LAUGHED IN 5 MINUTES WITH YOUR SELF ABOUT THE FINAL ZIGARETTE, THE NICOTINE AND THE INDEPENDENCE!
I hope you don’t mind that I also share this very personal topic with you. On the one hand I need this for myself and if I motivate even one other person to quit smoking, then it has already paid off!
Have a nice Sunday!
